About Us

Youth Chances is a proudly collaborative effort – led by The Metro Centre in partnership with Ergo Consulting and the University of Greenwich, as well as a panel of more than 50 experts from a variety of fields, our mission is to improve the life chances of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) 16-25 year olds across England. The project’s planned 5 year run is kindly funded by the Big Research arm of the Big Lottery.

By the time we’re finished, Youth Chances will have delivered 3 core outcomes:

✓ June 2013 and June 2015 will see the publication and dissemination of the first comprehensive, systematic and robust evidence of the needs of LGBTQ young people in England, attained through a study of over 15,000 LGBTQ 16-25 yr olds.
✓ By June 2015 we will be able to demonstrate considerable change in the practice of 50 service providers across England as a result of the recommendations based on the evidence collected.
✓ Also by June 2015, we will be able to significantly influence the policy of 50 commissioners across England in accordance to our findings.
