Youth Chances November news…

  1. Since our last update we have met young people in Cambridge and then in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Thank you so much to everyone at Mesmac North-east and at the Lesbi Rangers group at the West End Women and Girls Centre It was fantastic to hear your opinions of the survey introduction, the different topics that are going to feature like employment and housing, as well as joining in our current projects- Map it Out! and Spread the word! (In case you needed reminding these are happening!). We have taken on board your advice about bullet-pointing key points, using ‘read more’ buttons and having the chance to ‘like’ the survey on facebook. We also loved your Youth Chances promo inspiration- Axian’s idea for a flash-mob and Mesmac’s ideas to put a film together for ITV fixers. Watch this space… 16-25 year olds can already sign up to be a Superstar!- contact our Communications Assistant, Peter Bachev
  2. Here is our current campaign that we want to spread far and wide with 16-25 year olds- thank you Jono Madeley at Plymouth Council and Sarah Aston at Eddystone Trust for your promo help today! We’re currently running a competition to design the 9 posters (one for each of England’s administrative regions) that we will use to advertise the project come its official launch in January. Read all about it in ‘Spread the word!’, our latest short film promo starring the voice of the one and only Remi Arnold…

3. We now have 2 surveys out with stakeholders involved in Youth Chances. The baseline for the Commissioner Stakeholder Forum is ready for all commissioners of services for 16-25 year olds. Thank you to Nick Wharam, Commissioner of Children and Young People’s Services at the Borough of Poole who was our first submission to the survey! The baseline survey for all services on the Provider Stakeholder Forum was circulated TODAY and first back was Matt Stanley from the Kent Children’s Fund Network- thank you for being so quick off the mark! If you are not already registered as members on the fora, you can still complete the survey and sign up- on the commissioner and provider pages of the website. You can do it now, do contact our Research Assistant Elana Covshoff, with any questions or queries.
